Participants in last year’s Mountain Dulcimer Winter Weekend take part in one of the many classes offered to musicians of all skill levels.
Western Carolina University will offer the fourth annual Mountain Dulcimer Winter Weekend Thursday, Jan. 8, through Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Lambuth Inn at Lake Junaluska.
A range of classes will be offered for beginner through expert players.
Classes will be taught by nationally known dulcimer musicians Lois Hornbostel, Don Pedi, Anne Lough, Wayne Seymour, Stephen Seifert, Kenneth Bloom, Larry and Elaine Conger, Bill Taylor, Mike Anderson and Joe Shelton.
Other activities will include a shape note singing class taught by WCU professor of music Will Peebles, informal staff performances, a student music-sharing circle, bowed dulcimer sessions, and a dulcimer orchestra for both new and experienced players.
