What do environmental science graduates do?

WCU students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science have many career and educational options.

Graduates may choose to attend law school or graduate school, perhaps in one of the Environmental Science Program subdisciplines.

Graduates entering careers might work in environmental positions with government agencies, consulting firms and nonprofits. Other environmental options include jobs in conservation, monitoring, regulation, protection, policy, research, education and planning.

Where Students Are The Solution
When you study environmental science at WCU the focus is science. You’ll receive cross-training in all the core sciences and can choose electives in your areas of interest. A true interdisciplinary major, the Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Sciences includes courses in:
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Environmental Health Sciences
  • Geology and Natural Resources

The Environmental Science Program is administered by a director and committee of faculty from the chemistry and physics department, biology department, geosciences and natural resources department, and the Environmental Health Sciences Program.
